Flooring project Day 1

So the plan was that the tile crew would arrive this morning at 9:30 to begin. Instead, the hardwoods arrived midmorning and were put into the living room to acclimate to the space and the tile guys arrived just before noon instead since they had the pleasure of driving from Buford which sucks pretty much any time of day. They got in and put up plastic sheeting to try to contain the demolition dust they were about to make. By the time Mike got home from our lunch date they were into the demolition process and he said it sounded like they were throwing plates. I asked him to snap a couple of pictures of the busted up floor so he did. The pictures after that are of the subfloor.

See the water line in the subfloor? That's how far all the water went!

Here's our new tile

Here's the wood which has Scotchguard

Here's how our living room looks right now. Yes, there's a fridge in there!

Tomorrow we hope the people will arrive as early as they say so they can get the backerboard and tile down ASAP and let it set up. Apparently, the wood crew is planning to come tomorrow as well which sounds like a hot mess to me because we're kind of running out of places to displace everything and we had planned on them doing about floor type at a time not several at once. It will all work out and we are so excited to see all of it done.
