Kieran's speech session today

I got a call from Kieran's speech therapist after their session today. She noted that he is consistent about his use of the sign for "more." So she worked with him with a toy he wanted to get him to at least attempt to say the word. He did eventually say, "mu" and she wants us to work with him when he wants something to get him to say something. By refusing to give him stuff until he makes a sound and saying, "I can't hear you." She also worked with him on another sign for "help" which
is putting your fist on an open palm in front of you. Hopefully he will pick that up and use it instead of becoming so frustrated. She wants him to start using "yes" and "no" soon as well. Also, she is trying to get him to understand "my turn" so that he gets the concept of when it's his turn to play with something. She noted that when he was reintroduced to his classroom today he snatched Legos from a little girl.
She also wants us to offer him more choices and make him respond to point to what he wants; hopefully he will become a little less passive and a bit more responsive and understand that he can make changes and choices. As always, she was very encouraging and feels like he's going to get language soon and that she wants to work with him weekly at least until he gets a good start.
