Croup is evil

Last Friday Kieran woke up with a croupy cough and I thought it might actually clear up as the day went on as it usually does. I ended up getting him a sick appointment at the ped's office because his wheezing was out of control. They couldn't see him until after 11 though so it was a super good thing I had one random dose of pred in the cabinet from the last croup episode. If I had not had that medicine for him he would have required the ER. The ped told me I did everything right by giving him his inhaler treatments as soon as I noticed the cough. He also noted when he checked Kieran's ears that his tubes are just sitting in his ear canals not doing anything so they need removed. Good thing we're seeing a new ENT next Monday; hopefully they can pull them while we're there. Lastly, the doctor pointed out something pretty amazing: in the past 2 months Kieran has gained 2 pounds and went from the 9th to the 21st percentile!! He's over 25 pounds now. I really have now idea how since he's such a picky little crapper but I'll take it! Anyway, after three doses of pred Kieran was right as rain and we will continue the inhalers until he is cough free.
